TERMS OF USE
These terms and conditions (the "Terms and Conditions") govern the use of rin-ontario.ca (the "Site").
The Site is owned and operated by Afolabi Business Law Professional Corporation ("ABLPC"). The Site is an e-commerce website.
By using this Site, you indicate that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions and agree to abide by them at all times.
THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CONTAIN A DISPUTE RESOLUTION CLAUSE THAT IMPACTS YOUR RIGHTS ABOUT HOW TO RESOLVE DISPUTES. PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY.
1. Intellectual Property
All contents published and made available on this Site is the property of Afolabi Business Law Professional Corporation. This includes, but is not limited to images, text, logos, documents, downloadable files, and anything that contributes to the composition of the Site.
2. Age Restrictions
The minimum age to use the Site is 18 years old. By using this Site, you agree that you are over 18 years old. We do not assume any legal responsibility for false statements about age.
3. Sale of Goods and Services
These Terms and Conditions govern the sale of goods and services available on this Site.
The goods available on this Site are RIN request letters produced upon the provision of information by the user.
The services available through this Site are the drafting of the aforementioned letter, as well as availability for and the actual undertaking of notarisation of the aforementioned letter.
You agree that the utility of goods and services purchased will be dependent on the information you provide, such that any mistake in the information you provide, and the result of that mistake, is entirely your own fault. You agree to purchase goods and services from this Site at your own risk.
4. Payments
We accept payment on this Site by Credit Card.
When you provide your Credit Card information, you authorise our use of and access to the payment information, and authorise us to charge the amount due on that payment information.
5. Guarantees
We guarantee that a RIN request letter produced through the use of this site will be valid as part of the documentation that can enable the requiring of a RIN from Ontario's Ministry of Transportation ("MTO") or Service Ontario ("SO"). However, since we do not control your other documentation as may be required, and since we do not attend at MTO or SO with you, we do not guarantee that every attempt by you to secure that RIN will be successful.
6. Consumer Protection Law
Where consumer protection legislation applies to goods and services purchased through this Site, and cannot be excluded, these Terms and Conditions will not limit your legal rights and remedies under that legislation but will be read subject to the mandatory provisions of that legislation.
7. Limitation of Liability
You agree that ABLPC and our directors, officers, agents, employees, subsidiaries, and affiliates will not be liable for any actions, claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses, inclusive of legal fees, that are asserted to result or do result from your use of this Site.
8. Indemnity
Except where prohibited by law, you agree that in using this Site you indemnify ABLPC and hold ABLPC harmless, along with its directors, officers, agents, employees, subsidiaries, and affiliates, from any actions, claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses, inclusive of legal fees, arising from your use of this Site or your violation of these Terms and Conditions.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws applicable in the Province of Ontario.
10. Dispute Resolution
If you and ABLPC are unable to resolve any dispute through information discussion, then you and ABLPC agree to submit the issue first to a neutral and mutually-acceptable non-binding mediator, and to a neutral and mutually-acceptable arbitrator in the event that the mediation does not resolve the dispute. The decision of the arbitrator will be final and binding. The cost of any mediation and arbitration will be shared in the quantum of 25% by ABLPC and 75% by you.
11. Severability
If at any time any of the provisions in these Terms and Conditions are found to be inconsistent or invalid under applicable laws, the inconsistent or invalid provisions will be deemed void and removed, but all other provisions will remain valid.
12. Changes
These Terms and Conditions may be amended from time to time to maintain compliance with law or to protect established interests.
13. Additional Terms
A. ABLPC will produce a correctly-drafted RIN request letter which you can present to Service Ontario for the purposes of the issuance of your RIN.
B. Your Notary Public will notarize the aforementioned letter, and place the original in the mail, headed to your address as indicated on the letter, or a different address of your choosing. The PDF version will be emailed to you at the end of your video-call Notary Public appointment, and only serves as your back-up copy.
C. Standard Canada Post mail is utilized, such that your mail will typically arrive in about three business days. However, rapid, next-day delivery can be requested at the added cost of $50 in shipping and handling.
D. To save you time, and to support a successful visit to Service Ontario, your Notary Public will assist with troubleshooting concerns related to the acquisition of your RIN, such as the identification of proper pieces of evidence, resolving concerns related to multiple addresses, business structure issues, and so on.
E. As your RIN request letter is drafted right away, and as you are undertaking to be present for the Notary Public appointment, a partial or full refund cannot be issued for the RIN-Ontario service.
F. You agree to present government-issued photo identification to the Notary Public in order to facilitate the notarial service.
G. You agree that the legal services you will receive are limited to the selections you have made.
PRIVACY POLICY
Type of Website: e-commerce.
rin-ontario.ca (the "Site") is owned and operated by Afolabi Business Law Professional Corporation (ABLPC). ABLPC is the data controller and can be reached at service@rin-ontario.ca
Purpose
The purpose of this privacy policy (this "Privacy Policy") is to inform users of our Site of the following:
1. the personal data we will collect;
2. use of collected data;
3. who has access to the data collected;
4. the rights of Site users; and
5. the Site's cookie policy.
This Privacy Policy applies in addition to the terms and conditions of our Site.
GDPR
For users in the European Union, we adhere to the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (the "GDPR"). For users in the United Kingdom, we adhere to the GDPR as enshrined in the Data Protection Act 2018.
We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer as we do not fall within the categories of controllers and processors required to appoint a Data Protection Officer under Article 37 of the GDPR.

By using our Site users agree that they consent to the conditions set out in this Privacy Policy.
Legal Basis for Processing
We collect and process personal data about users in the EU only when we have a legal basis for doing so under Article 6 of the GDPR.

Our legitimate interest is not overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of users. Our legitimate interest(s) are: Engagement in commerce through actions that include the identification of persons who, based on behaviour, may be interested in procuring an available service; and
2. Processing of user personal data is necessary for us to take, at the request of a user, steps before entering a contract or for the performance of a contract to which a user is a party. If a user does not provide the personal data necessary to perform a contract the consequences are as follows: The contract cannot be fulfilled.
Personal Data We Collect
We only collect data that helps us achieve the purpose set out in this Privacy Policy. We will not collect any additional data beyond the data listed below without notifying you first.
Data Collected Automatically
When you visit and use our Site, we may automatically collect and store the following information:
1. location;
2. hardware and software details;
3. clicked links; and
4. content viewed.
Data Collected in a Non-Automatic Way
We may also collect the following data when you perform certain functions on our Site:

Employees
We may disclose user data to any member of our organisation who reasonably needs access to user data to achieve the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

We may share user data with the following third parties: marketing agencies are able to access the data, for in-house marketing efforts. The data is not sold to third parties.
We may share the following user data with third parties: data such as links clicked while using the site.
We may share user data with third parties for the following purposes: for targeted advertising purposes.
Third parties will not be able to access user data beyond what is reasonably necessary to achieve the given purpose.
Other Disclosures
We will not sell or share your data with other third parties, except in the following cases:
1. if the law requires it;
2. if it is required for any legal proceeding;
3. to prove or protect our legal rights; and
4. to buyers or potential buyers of this company in the event that we seek to sell the company.
If you follow hyperlinks from our Site to another site, please note that we are not responsible for and have no control over their privacy policies and practices.
How Long We Store Personal Data
User data will be stored until the purpose the data was collected for has been achieved.
You will be notified if your data is kept for longer than this period.
How We Protect Your Personal Data
In order to protect your security, we use the strongest available browser encryption and store all of our data on servers in secure facilities. All data is only accessible to our employees. Our employees are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and a breach of this agreement would result in the employee's termination.
While we take all reasonable precautions to ensure that user data is secure and that users are protected, there always remains the risk of harm. The Internet as a whole can be insecure at times and therefore we are unable to guarantee the security of user data beyond what is reasonably practical.
Your Rights as a User
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

3. right to rectification;
4. right to erasure;
5. right to restrict processing;
6. right to data portability; and
7. right to object.
Children
We do not knowingly collect or use personal data from children under 16 years of age. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 16 years of age, the personal data will be deleted as soon as possible. If a child under 16 years of age has provided us with personal data their parent or guardian may contact our privacy officer.
